The ‘Kheer Mohan’ sweet of Chauparan is still famous in the country and abroad. In the year 1932, there was only one shop where Kheer Mohan was sold. According to information, during the Quit India Movement, Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi was passing through Chauparan. At that time, he tasted ‘Kheer Mohan’ with the freedom fighters. Let us tell you that at that time Indians had less money. Due to this, the British used to eat ‘Kheer Mohan’ more at the shop. Gradually, this sweet reached abroad along with Indians. After which ‘Kheer Mohan’ became famous.

History of ‘Kheer Mohan’ dessert
The oldest ‘Kheer Mohan’ shop in Hazaribagh’s Chauparan is believed to be Vishnu ‘Kheer Mohan’. Vishnu, a resident of Chauparan, started making and selling ‘Kheer Mohan’ sweets since 1932. So far, his three generations have been making and selling ‘Kheer Mohan’ sweets. At the same time, due to being on GT Road, this shop has become more famous. Regarding the shop, it is said that the number of ‘Kheer Mohan’ shops has increased here since the Corona period. At present, there are hundreds of ‘Kheer Mohan’ shops here.

Recipe for making Kheer Mohan
There is a process of making ‘Kheer Mohan’ of Chauparan. Milk curd is used to make the sweet delicious and tasty. Kheer Mohan is prepared in two ways. One ‘Kheer Mohan’ is prepared in sugar syrup and the other Kheer Mohan is prepared in jaggery syrup. ‘Kheer Mohan’ also looks like Rasgulla and Gulab Jamun. The price of ‘Kheer Mohan’ ranges from Rs. 250 to Rs. 400 per kg. There are about 30 pieces in one kg.
