Hair fall is now a common disease. But the problem arises when hair starts falling at an early age. As happened with 27-year-old Nicole Thomas. When Nicole was just 13 years old, the hairdresser noticed a spot on the back of her neck from where hair was disappearing. She became upset after knowing this. Started making rounds of hospitals. Meanwhile, all the hair fell out. Then someone advised to see a skin specialist. Then the dreadful truth came to light.
According to the Mirror report, when Nicole, a resident of Cardiff, saw a skin specialist, it was found that she had an autoimmune disease called Alopecia Areata Disease. The doctor told that this is such a disease, when your immune system starts attacking your hair follicles, then hair starts falling. It usually attacks the head and face. Hair usually falls out in small, round pieces. If it is not treated properly then all the hair falls out.
Forced to wear wig for 3 years
Nicole was also losing all her hair due to this reason. The condition became so bad that by the time he turned 17, he lost 70 percent of his hair. After this she was forced to wear a wig for 3 years. Used many types of ointments and steroid creams. but to no avail. Hair was falling continuously. But now after the efforts of the doctors, she is getting her hair back again.
If there is treatment, hair grows back.
According to the British Health Agency, alopecia is not life threatening. But it troubles you mentally. It affects every person in different ways. Some people suffer from hair fall throughout their life while others face this problem only once. Most people have this problem at the age of 20 or 30. However, this has been seen in many children also. There is no cure for it till now. But there are some medicines from which recovery is unpredictable. In some people the hair regrows completely but in others it does not.
