Many people dream of winning the lottery. But one lottery winner has a strange story to tell. He won a jackpot of Rs 3.2 billion, but he insists it is not as much as it is being made out to be. The anonymous winner claims his windfall has made him reclusive and damaged his relationships with loved ones.
He revealed that he earns around Rs 3.76 crore to Rs 4.30 crore annually and used his initial winnings to buy a Rs 7.52 crore house in South Bay, Los Angeles, which offers stunning sea views.
But the story doesn’t end here. Reddit’s r/AMA Sharing his story on the thread, he revealed that despite having enough money to retire comfortably, he works a 9-to-5 job as a corporate executive assistant to avoid boredom. Sharing his story on Reddit, he said, “They have no idea why I (the lottery winner) am working?”

But there is another side to the story. While cash gave him financial freedom, he says it also broke his trust in people, including those closest to him. “I have no friends or family because I refused to support them financially,” he adds. “They were very happy to ask me for money, but couldn’t be bothered to celebrate my birthday. They started claiming my money.”
The man revealed that things haven’t been easy for him since winning the jackpot – as he admitted it has negatively affected his outlook on life. “I wanted to do all these things – learn boxing, travel – but I never got to do them. Winning the lottery made me a miser,” he said. But he is happy now, keeps his lottery win a secret, and in fact is glad that such people have gone away.
