A part of the brain sleeps when a person is awake know how it works

The brain is an important part of the human body. But have you ever wondered how long the human brain remains active and how it works? Today we will tell you how different parts of the brain work and which part remains active while sleeping.

The brain is an important part of the human body. A research conducted in America has revealed surprising results. This research revealed that when we are awake, a small part of our brain takes a nap. But this same part keeps waking up again and again when we are sleeping. Scientists have described this new discovery as very important, which can help in understanding many diseases.

Research has revealed that in a very small part of the brain, brain waves suddenly stop for a few milliseconds. While we are sleeping, brain waves suddenly start running in this same area. Not only this, brain waves determine whether the brain is awake or asleep. In a research that lasted 4 years, scientists measured the voltage of brain waves in 10 different parts of the rats’ brain and collected a large amount of electrophysiology data.

The researchers monitored the activities of a small group of people down to the microsecond limit for several months. This data was analyzed through an artificial neural network and the network was asked to detect patterns and anomalies that have not been caught in human studies.

Biomolecular engineering professor David Haussler said that as scientists we were surprised to know that different parts of our brain are taking a nap while the rest of our brain is awake. This new discovery can be very important in better understanding and finding treatment for neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative diseases related to sleep deprivation.
At the same time, Keith Hengen, assistant professor of biology at Washington University, said that sleep and wakefulness are the biggest determinants of our behavior. Therefore, if we do not know what sleep and wakefulness really are, we will be left behind. The more we understand sleep and wakefulness in a fundamental way, the more we will be able to solve diseases.
