On Thursday morning, a man, troubled by his illness, committed suicide by jumping into the gap between the train coaches at Kashmiri Gate Metro Station. The deceased has been identified as Kamal Kumar Gupta. A suicide note has been found near the deceased. In which he has written that he took this step due to being troubled by TB. The police has sent the body for postmortem. Due to the incident, the movement of the metro train going towards Shaheed Sthal was disrupted for about an hour.
Police officer said that on Thursday morning, Kashmiri Gate Metro Station Police got information about a person committing suicide at Kashmiri Gate Metro Station. Police reached the spot as soon as the information was received. By then Metro workers and CISF jawans had taken the injured person to a nearby hospital. On reaching the hospital, police came to know that the person had been declared dead. Police found a suicide note and home address in the deceased’s pocket. Through the note, the deceased was identified as Kamal Kumar Gupta, a resident of Chawri Bazaar. Police sent the body for post-mortem and informed his family about the incident.
During the investigation, the police examined the CCTV cameras installed on the platform. It was found that Kamal was waiting for the metro train going towards Shaheed Sthal on the platform. After the train reached the platform, he jumped into the empty space between the coaches. Due to which he fell on the track and was seriously injured after being hit by the train. After getting information about the incident, his brother Sunil Gupta reached there.
He told that his brother was suffering from a serious disease called TB. He was very upset due to his illness. On Thursday morning, he left the house saying that he was going for a walk. The police officer told that in the suicide note, he has written that he has to spend a lot on his illness. Because of which he has written that he has taken this step. The police is investigating the case by questioning the family members.
