The mutilated body of Mahant, who went missing during Holi Parikrama, was found late Friday evening in the Kotwali mixed area of Sitapur district. The body was divided into two parts. After the murder, the murderer had cut off the lower part of Mahant’s waist and thrown it in another sack. There was a stir when Mahant’s body was found in two sacks.
According to the information, on March 26, Tie’s son Atmaram, resident of village Girdharpur of Beniganj police station of Hardoi district, had given a complaint letter to the Kotwali in-charge and told that his real uncle Mahant Mani Ramdas (65), disciple of Brahma Rishi Nimiya Baba, resident of village Girdharpur, Misrikh of Hardoi district. Eighty-four Kosiyas had come to circumambulate. After circumambulating all the stops, he was circumambulating Panchkosi in mixed form. He was last contacted on phone on March 24. On which he had said that he would come home but after several days had passed, he did not reach home.
After that the nephew tried to call on mobile phone but his mobile phone kept saying switched off. On which all the family members came to Misrikh and started searching for him. After a lot of searching, he could not be found anywhere.
On Friday evening, information was received about something lying in a sack on the side of Kesaripur Road, about 200 meters along the Sidhauli Road in the Kotwali area. When police reached the spot and investigated, Mahant’s mutilated body was found in a sack, which was confirmed by calling Mahant’s family. The dead body is said to be about 4-5 days old. Kotwali in-charge Shailendra Srivastava said that the matter is being investigated.
