Jhunjhunu. The fate of a farmer from Jhunjhunu 42 years ago bush Opened it. This farmer, after seeing one bush, planted 800 such bushes in his field. Now the farmer is earning lakhs from these bushes and is providing employment to about two dozen people. This bush proved to be so lucky for the farmer that he has been honored many times for farming.
This success story is of farmer Mohar Singh living in Kesaripura, Jhunjhunu. He has now become a source of inspiration for other farmers for innovation in farming. Now let us tell you the story of the bush.
story of success
Mohar Singh tells his story himself. He said that in 1981, a native bush was seen growing in his field. It bore fruit when it received water during irrigation. The fruits were also such that anyone would be tempted to see them. Just then it was decided that we would plant trees of this fruit in the entire field. Now let us tell you that this bush was actually of sour plum. Mohar Singh told that when plums grew in the local bush, his friend offered to give him hundred rupees for the plum. Mohar Singh said, what should I charge for a bush? You eat plum. But I thought in my mind that I am giving Rs 100 for one bush, if I plant more then I will get more profit. Just planted plum trees on my entire one bigha land. There are now 800 plum trees in his farm. Everything is bearing fruit. These yield about 1 quintal of berries from one bush in a year.

variety of plums
In Mohar Singh’s farm, not only local but also foreign varieties of trees are planted. He has planted plums of Bridge Apple, Gola, Pugran, Mundiya, Dates, Kashmir Red, Thai Apple and Sundari varieties. The remaining berries are mixed and sold at one rate. But the Thais keep the apple separate.
flourish in life
The fruit of plum proved so fruitful in his life that now both the sons of Mohar Singh also help in its cultivation. About 20 laborers are working with him. Apart from plum, Mohar Singh also has seasonal, kinnow, plum and his own nursery in his farm.
