Market: There is a unique goddess temple on the Himalayas. This temple is closed in winter, darshan is allowed here only in summer. Snowfall is the main reason behind the closure of this temple in winter, but there is another reason due to which the administration does not allow people to go here. This reason is a mystery, which remains unsolved till date. It is said that during winter many people came to visit this temple, but then they were not found.
The highest peak of Mandi district i.e. Shikari Peak and the temple of Shikari Mata. After the onset of winter, no human being or tracker will be able to go here. After the onset of winter, the cold has increased significantly in this area and snowfall can occur at any time. Therefore, the administration has banned people from going here. Let us tell you that this ban is imposed every time. Apart from increasing cold and snowfall in winter, there is another reason for ban on visiting this temple.
The doors were closed, the priest also left the temple
Every time just before winter the doors of this temple are closed. Even the priests here do not stay here during this winter due to adverse conditions. At the same time, now SDM Mandi has also issued an order that no man or tracker will go to Shikari Mata Temple till summer. This decision is taken every winter keeping in mind the public interest.
Many people missing, not found
Shikari Mata is on the high peak of the temple. Local people said that many people, disobeying the orders of the administration, had gone to visit Shikari Devi temple in winter. Later some of them went missing. Many people lost their lives and those who went missing have not been found till date. Therefore, it is wise to follow the guidelines of the administration. Going on this track in winter means inviting death.
The doors will open again in summer
When winter comes, there is severe snowfall in this entire valley. No one reaches here for about three months. After this, the priests again reach the temple in April. Open the doors of the temple and worship the Mother Goddess. Trekking here is also done in summer only.
