This incident is from a state named Illinois in America. Here a woman named Vera Liddell worked in the Harvey School District. According to ABC News, 68-year-old Liddell stole the entire consignment of chicken meant for the students. She did this during the Covid pandemic. According to Cook County prosecutors, Liddell’s job was also to place food orders from Gordon Food Services. This is where the food supply for the school came from. Liddell placed orders for chicken wings from July 2020 to February 2022, got it billed as well but sent the chicken outside instead of giving it to the children.
Now he is sentenced to 9 years in prison
Since children were not coming to school during Covid, Liddell committed a fraud of one and a half million US dollars i.e. more than Rs 12 crore in their name during this period. This act of the woman came to light when the audit started in the year 2023. Here the budget of food service was Rs 2 crore more. In this case, Liddell has been sentenced to 9 years in jail.
