Aahana Kumra reacted on influencers taking over acting jobs says Should I start dancing on social media be like Dilli ki aunty

Aahana Kumra On Social Media Effects: TV actress Aahana Kumara made her on-screen debut with Amitabh Bachchan’s TV show Yudh. Recently, the actress has talked about the increasing influence of social media influencers in the acting world and her not getting work. Aahana says that it has become difficult to become an actor in today’s era.

In a recent interview with Hindustan Times, Aahana Kumara said, “Clout and networking are the things that are getting you jobs. A lot of actors are confused about how to deal with this because we are being asked to be active on social media and get PR agencies.”

Casting is being done on the basis of social media followers
Aahana further said- ‘When I started, there was no pressure to look a certain way on social media and keep doing reels and dance videos. Nowadays a lot of casting is happening on the basis of social media followers. It is very difficult and extremely painful to get work in today’s time. Even the film makers you want to work with are also moving towards influencers who have influence on social media. So the actors are surprised.’

‘Should start dancing on social media…’
The actress further says, ‘Should I become an influencer and start dancing on social media to get work? Should I start boasting, doing mimicry or be like Delhi aunty? Will you get a job like this? Because I don’t think they will be able to do anything more than this.’

Social media has increased the difficulty of actors
Aahana Kumara further said that being an outsider was already a challenge for many people, but social media has added to the difficulties, now it is making the struggle of an actor even more difficult. The actress says that young children from film families are prepared to enter the industry from the age of five.

‘There will be a shortage of actors in our industry’
Ahana said- ‘Soon, after a time in India, there will be a shortage of actors in our industry. If every day one is being asked to make a social media reel and dance to get cast, then who will act?’
