The people there, the Punjabi culture is full of love. So when we went to shoot for Dangal, it was a small village where we were shooting.
Aamir narrated a special story
The Dangal actor further said- ‘We shot at that place and that house for more than two months. You won’t believe it, but when I used to reach there around 5 or 6 in the morning, as soon as my car came in, people would stand outside their houses to welcome me with folded hands and saying ‘Sat Shri Akal’. They just waited to welcome me. They never harassed me, never stopped my car, after my pack-up, when I returned, they would again stand outside their houses and wish me good night.
Being a Muslim, I understood the power of ‘Namaste’.
Aamir Khan said- ‘I am from a Muslim family, I am not in the habit of folding hands in Namaste. I am used to raising my hand and bowing my head, after spending those two and a half months in Punjab, I realized the power of ‘Namaste’. This is an amazing feeling. In Punjab, people are very kind to everyone and do not discriminate on the basis of height.
