Ab Dilli Dur Nahin Movie Review: The film teaches us not to give up… Love angle is heavy in the story of inspiration

Mumbai. Ab Dilli Dur Nahin Movie Review: Lakhs of youth dream of becoming IAS and IPS by giving UPSAC exam. But where do everyone’s dreams come true? To fulfill dreams, studying with hard work and dedication is not in everyone’s capability. Thousands of students from villages, towns and small towns come to big cities with the dream of becoming IAS and IPS. As soon as he comes to the city, he makes up his mind to study with hard work and dedication. But the city’s air-water and glare slowly grow bigger in front of their dreams and hard work. Many people get trapped in it, while some go beyond it and fulfill their dreams. ‘Ab Dilli Door Nahi’ shows some such inspiring story.

Story of ‘Ab Delhi Door Nahin’

‘Ab Dilli Door Nahin’ is inspired by the life of 2006 batch IAS officer Govind Jaiswal. His father used to drive a rickshaw. His mother had passed away due to financial constraints. Govind qualified the UPSC exam at the age of 22 and became an IAS. Talking about the film, Abhay Shukla (Imran Zahid) dreams of becoming an IAS because of the humiliation he faced in his childhood. Papa is a farmer and washes utensils in people’s homes. Abhay becomes the topper of his district. After leaving a small village, he comes to the city to prepare for UPSC. He has cleared prelims and is preparing for mains. Amidst this preparation, he falls in love with Niyati (Shruti Sodhi), the daughter of the landlord. Nidhi is pursuing medical studies and has to go to London.

Imran Zahid-Shruti Sodhi played the lead roles in ‘Ab Dilli Door Nahin’.

An angle Niyati and Abhay’s love story has also been shown well in the film. After this there are many ups and downs in Abhay’s life. The issue like reservation has also been raised. Get cheated in love. Abhay also thinks of leaving UPSC studies and teaching in the coaching center. But with his dedication and strong will, he qualifies the UPAAC in the last attempt and becomes an IAS. There is also a twist in the end of the film.

Acting and Direction

Imran Zahid and Shruti Sodhi have shown excellent performances in ‘Ab Dilli Door Nahin’. Mahesh Bhatt has done a cameo as a motivational speaker. It is pleasant to see Mahesh Bhatt acting on the big screen. Other actors have also shown solid performances. The film was directed by Kamal Chandra and its story was written by Dinesh Gautam. The film duration is of 95 minutes. There is little pace in the film. The focus is more on the love story than the inspiration story. An attempt has been made to strike a balance by referring to studies and UPSC exams in between. In the first half of the film, while jumping from one scene to another, the black screen gap is seen again and again, its minus point.

Watch ‘Ab Dilli Door Nahi’ or not!

We have already seen many stories on UPSAC aspirants on the big screen. This film is a bit different and special from those films. In those films, more focus has been given on college life and campus love. But there is neither a college nor a campus in ‘Ab Dilli Door Nahin’. Still a love story and a story of aspirants. Overall, there is no flashiness in the film. Some light are mood songs. This film gives a motivation. You can see it.
