Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2024: Assembly elections are going to be held in Maharashtra on 20th November. All the parties have released the first list of candidates. Meanwhile, SP President Akhilesh Yadav has announced to contest elections on five seats in Maharashtra. He said that we are working towards defeating the Bharatiya Janata Party.
On contesting elections in Maharashtra, SP President Akhilesh Yadav said in the Summit 2024 of ABP Network that we are contesting elections on five seats there. There is friendly fight on some seats. Akhilesh said that our party is contesting elections only where its organization is. Will not contest elections at any place where BJP will directly benefit.

He said that we will work towards defeating BJP in Maharashtra. During this, he also claimed victory of INDIA Alliance in Maharashtra. Giving the slogan of ‘Mahamatdan-Mahasavdhan’, he said that no party does more rigging in elections than the Bharatiya Janata Party. Therefore the people of Maharashtra will have to be careful.
Last date for filing nomination
October 29 is the last date for filing nominations for Maharashtra elections, but the list of candidates for all the seats has not yet been released by Maha Vikas Aghadi and Mahayuti alliance. The grand alliance includes BJP, Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar’s NCP, apart from some small local parties. At the same time, apart from Congress, Shiv Sena of Uddhav Thackeray group and NCP of Sharad Pawar group, other parties are also included in Maha Vikas Aghadi.
Elections in Maharashtra on 20th November
Elections will be held in Maharashtra in a single phase on November 20, while the counting of votes will take place on November 23. The ruling Mahayuti alliance in Maharashtra in which Eknath Shinde The K faction comprising Shiv Sena, BJP and Ajit Pawar-led NCP will be in direct competition with the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), comprising Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT) and Sharad Pawar-led NCP (Sharachandra Pawar).
