How can criminal incidents be stopped in the government hospitals of the capital when officials and private agencies are involved in corruption in the deployment of security guards. A big case of corruption has come to light in the deployment of private security guards in Delhi government hospitals. Security personnel were not deployed in the hospital, yet payments were made to private agencies. Even unqualified personnel were deployed. In this case, the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) has filed an FIR against the private security providing agencies.

ACB claims that many officials are involved in the case. Recently, miscreants murdered a patient inside GTB Hospital, the biggest hospital of East Delhi. The private agencies against whom FIR has been lodged had deployed security guards at GTB as well. ACB Joint Commissioner Madhur Verma told that many types of complaints were being received regarding deployment of security guards in Delhi government hospitals, fake claims of ESI and PF deductions, demanding bribe from guards, etc. Two complainants came to the ACB office and complained that they were working as security supervisors in some security agency.
The said agency provides security personnel to GTB Hospital, Shahdara, Rajiv Gandhi Super Specialty Hospital, Tahirpur, BR Ambedkar Hospital, Rohini, SDN Hospital, Shahdara and Hindu Rao Hospital and other Delhi government hospitals. It takes money from the salaries of the employees. Investigation into the matter revealed that the agency owners are in collusion with the government officials. On thorough investigation, corruption was found at many levels in this case.
Low deployment as per standard
ACB investigation revealed that private agencies deployed less number of security personnel than the number fixed in the tender. If the agency claimed to provide 100 security guards on paper, then in reality only 40 personnel were deployed. But their payment was made according to the number of security personnel fixed in the tender. The same security guard was shown deployed in many hospitals. Tender rules were violated and ineligible security personnel were recruited without police verification. Fake and forged claims against fake PF, ESI and UAN have also been found. At present, information about government officials is being sought in this case.
