During excavation in Bairia, Patna, the soil caved in. A laborer died after being buried under it. After the incident, the laborers working there fled from the spot. The people living nearby informed Gopalpur police station about the incident. After getting the information, the police of Gopalpur police station reached the spot and with the help of JCB, they took out the laborer who had fallen in the pit. The laborer was admitted to the hospital for treatment, where the doctors declared him dead.
All other workers fled after the accident
It is being said that the digging work was going on for the repair of Barauni-Kanpur petrol line near Beriya in Gopalpur police station area of Patna. A laborer was digging inside a pit about 12 feet deep. Suddenly the soil from above collapsed rapidly and the laborer got buried in it. As soon as the laborer got buried in the pit, the other laborers working there fled from there. The people nearby informed Gopalpur police station about this. As soon as the information was received, the police of Gopalpur police station reached the spot with the force and the rescue work of the laborer buried inside the soil started. After two hours of hard work, the laborer was taken out of the soil.
Excavation work was going on to repair the pipeline
Regarding the matter, Gopalpur police station in-charge Javed Ahmed Khan said that digging work was going on for the repair of the pipeline. The deceased laborer has been identified as Roshan Kumar, 30 years old, resident of Arwal. He told that the police have seized a JCB machine from the spot. Gopalpur police station in-charge said that at present no written application of any kind has been received in the police station. The police is now trying to find out through which agency the work was being done there. The police has sent the body of the deceased to Nalanda Medical College Hospital for post-mortem and has informed his family about it.
