Today we will tell you what changes have happened in these laws, due to which now if someone steals your car, then how many years of punishment will be given under BNS.
The three new laws that came into force from July 1 are the Indian Judicial Code, the Indian Civil Protection Code and the Indian Evidence Act. These laws have replaced the Indian Penal Code (IPC), the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) and the old Indian Evidence Act.
Vehicle theft crimes were increasing day by day across the country. But now after the change in the law, the police have started cracking down on thieves. The police have now started registering cases under the new law, Section 112 and 112 (2) of the Indian Penal Code (BNS).
Section 112 of the BNS is very strong. With this, the police will be able to take swift action against thieves. Any criminal caught under these sections will get legal punishment.
Organized crime has been defined in Section 111 of the Indian Judicial Code (BNS) 2023. It includes 17 cases, which include cyber crime, kidnapping, robbery, vehicle theft, extortion, land grabbing, contract killing, printing and circulation of fake notes.
In addition, snatching, as defined in Section 304(1), is a ‘new’ offence distinct from theft. Section 304(2) of the BNS provides that whoever commits snatching shall be punished with imprisonment of up to three years and shall also be liable to fine.
