Hundreds of women from two village panchayats of Kopaganj area of ​​Mau surrounded the Kopaganj police station on Thursday and raised slogans. The women allege that the self-help group has fraudulently withdrawn money through Aadhaar cards.

Also, the employees of the self-help group society were accused of collecting tax at higher interest rates by claiming lower interest rates and forcibly entering the house and taking away household goods when opposed. On the other hand, the self-help group is calling these allegations baseless.

Women from the village council Tadiyaanv of Kopaganj block area and the village group around Pidwal turn of Ghosi block had taken money from the self-help group. The group alleges that when the people of the organization reached everyone’s house after not depositing the money after the completion of the time, the women created a ruckus and started talking about not depositing the money.

The people of the group started talking about filing an FIR against the women in the police station. As soon as the women came to know about this, they reached Kopaganj police station and started protesting against the group.

Among the protesters, Manju Devi, Akali Devi, Sunita Devi, Reshmi, Puja, Sushila, Kiran, Durgavati, Rajesh Kumar, Parvati etc. alleged that proof has been sought under RTI regarding the use of fake Aadhar cards. But no report has been given till date. They said that until we get an answer under RTI, we will not deposit the money.
