For the second phase of the Defense Corridor project in Aligarh district, the district administration has got 200 bigha (11.7270 hectares) of land registered from 28 farmers for a sum of 20 crores in a single day.

Farmers are becoming rich by getting compensation in lieu of giving away their land. ADM Administration Pankaj Kumar told that the work of land acquisition is in progress in villages Julupur Singhaur and Jasrathpur of Tehsil Kol on GT Road. He said that in the project 81.0303 hectares of land of private farmers in both the villages is being acquired on the basis of agreement. While 6.8577 hectares of village society’s land has been purchased and reacquired, 87.8880 hectares of land has been registered.

He said that the entire amount is reaching the farmers’ bank accounts within 07 working days. Registration of 200 bigha land in a single day will definitely speed up the project. He said that tokens have been issued from the treasury for registration of 21 hectares of land. The registration of which will be done in the next two days. After this, almost half of the land of the second phase of the Defense Corridor will be acquired.

He informed that 20.4505 hectares of land has been registered in favour of the Defence Corridor project. 4.7568 hectares of land has been reclaimed in village Jasrathpur and Julupur Singhaur. 39.2499 hectares of land belongs to private farmers and 2.1009 hectares of land is remaining for reclamation. He has appealed to the farmers that if any farmer has not signed the agreement, then he can contact the Tehsildar office in Tehsil Kol and fill the agreement form.
