Aligarh Development Authority (ADA) assistant engineer Maharaj Singh, who was involved in a transaction with a person for construction work, has been suspended by the government. An order has also been issued regarding this. There is a lot of discussion about this action across the city including ADA.
In December 2023, a video of a transaction with a person for construction work went viral on social media. In which Assistant Engineer Maharaj Singh was seen sitting in a car and making transactions regarding getting the map of some construction approved. Taking cognizance of the matter, ADA Vice President Atul Vats issued a show cause notice, holding the concerned Assistant Engineer prima facie guilty. A two-member inquiry committee was also formed. On the basis of the committee’s report, a report was sent to the government recommending action against the assistant engineer.
ADA Vice President Atul Vats said that after investigation into the matter, a detailed report was sent to the government. Assistant Engineer Maharaj Singh, who was found guilty, has been suspended. During the suspension, the Assistant Engineer will remain attached to the office of the Director of Awas Bandhu, Lucknow. Additional Commissioner of Jhansi Division has been nominated for detailed investigation of this matter.
