Enraged by this attack, the Taliban attacked Pakistani army posts along the Durand Line and claimed to have killed 19 Pakistani soldiers. Apart from this, it has also claimed to capture 2 Pakistani posts.
Let us tell you that Afghanistan does not accept the Durand Line drawn by the British. Due to this, the situation remains tense between Pakistan and Afghanistan since the beginning. Now after both the countries attacking each other, the issue of Durand Line has become heated again.
At present the situation is peaceful
The fighting between Taliban and Pakistan continued till Saturday night. At present there is a peaceful situation. In view of the ongoing conflict, thousands of Afghan citizens have had to move from the border areas. The Pakistani Army has admitted that there was fighting in many areas near the Durand Line, but only 1 Pakistani soldier has died in the Taliban attack.
Afghanistan’s Defense Ministry gave a statement
In a statement, the Defense Ministry of Afghanistan has termed the Durand Line drawn between the two countries as an imaginary line. The Afghan Defense Ministry said, ‘On December 28, the attack was carried out in those areas of Pakistan from where attacks were carried out on Afghan soil.’ He said that the Afghan army has also burnt many posts of the Pakistani army.
Taliban announces, does not accept Durand Line
It is noteworthy that there has been a dispute between Pakistan and Afghanistan regarding the Durand Line for decades. No government of Afghanistan has ever accepted this border line drawn by the British. They always call it an imaginary line. When the Taliban Defense Ministry spokesperson was asked recently, he said, ‘We do not believe that this is Pakistan’s territory. This is just an imaginary line.
