The makers decided to cast Sridevi in the film and then started shooting the film with her again. Sridevi was also cast for the film because there were a lot of similarities between her and Divya Bharti. Both were very similar in appearance. They even competed with each other in terms of talent. After Sridevi’s entry in the film, many scenes of the film were rewritten.

But when Sridevi was shooting for this film, a horrifying incident happened on the set which scared everyone present there. What actually happened was that while speaking the same dialogue Divya Bharti had stammered, Sridevi had also stammered while speaking the same dialogue. Seeing this, everyone present there became uncomfortable.
The crew members thought that perhaps Divya Bharti’s soul was wandering here. Therefore, everyone started chanting Gayatri Mantra at that time and purified the set by breaking the coconut. Regarding this, the film’s second actress Raveena Tandon had told Mumbai Mirror that – everyone became emotional during the first shot, because after Divya’s sudden demise, Sridevi had come in her place.

While talking about the scene, Raveena had revealed that – Divya, Shakti Kapoor and I were shooting a scene in Aurangabad, in which she fires us from the job. While shooting this scene, Divya was repeatedly getting stuck on a line of dialogue and had to give retakes several times.
Raveena further told that after 6 months, Sridevi was shooting the same scene and the same thing happened with her. She was repeatedly getting stuck in speaking the dialogue. We all had goosebumps. Let us tell you that on April 5, 1993, Divya fell from the fifth floor of her apartment.
