Expansion
The food that the railway passengers will get on their seats during the journey will be fresh and pure. The railways have prepared a plan for this. Under this, AI (artificial intelligence) is being used. At present, cameras are being installed in 120 kitchens across the country and they are being monitored 24 hours a day. AI-enabled sensors have been installed in the kitchens along with CCTV cameras.
Due to this, information like dirt in the kitchen, dirt in the food or the cook’s clothes not being clean etc. is reaching the senior officers. Even if a chef is cooking without wearing a cap, he will be caught. Currently, monitoring has also been started by installing AI based cameras in kitchens built in many places including Delhi, Agra, Kanpur, Prayagraj.
In fact, passengers keep complaining about the food served in the railways that the food is not pure. In view of this, after the general budget, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav had announced that the kitchens will be monitored with the help of AI to improve the quality of food in trains. Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has started work in this direction.
IRCTC Public Relations Officer Siddharth Singh said that at present a total of 183 kitchens are running across the country. These include many IRCTC and licensed vendors’ kitchens. All of these supply food in trains and railway stations. Food is sent to the pantry car in the train, from where the food is packed as per the order and delivered to the passengers’ seats. Out of these, there are 120 kitchens where AI based cameras have been installed. This mainly includes many places including Delhi, Agra, Kanpur, Prayagraj.
1000 cluster kitchens will be built
Officials said that a big plan has been prepared to ensure that railway passengers get good quality food. Under the scheme, 1000 cluster kitchens will be opened across the country. These kitchens will be located near various railway stations across the country. Food will be supplied from these cluster kitchens to all long distance trains passing through that route. In this way, passengers will get fresh food. Many times, complaints are received from passengers. Passengers’ complaints will be resolved by opening cluster kitchens at various places.
If you get bad food, complain immediately
Officials said that if passengers get bad food during their train journey, they can complain immediately. For this, they can dial 139 number based on Indian Railway IVRS (Interactive Voice Response System). All languages will be available during the conversation. Apart from registering a complaint, they can also ask for their money back.
