AI Scam Over 83 Percent Indian People Lost Their Money Due To AI Fake Voice Call Says McAfee Report


AI Scam: The word scam is not new. All of you must have become accustomed to this word. Every day some or the other spam message must have come in the news or on your mobile. Meanwhile, a report has come out which you must know. McAfee had conducted a survey in which it was revealed that about 83% of Indian people gave their money to thugs not by SMS link, OTP or digital scam but by another way. Means the thugs are adopting less old methods now.

Artificial Intelligence has been in the limelight since last year. Now thugs are targeting people by misusing it. Most of the Indians have lost their money due to fake AI calls, in which the person in front seems to be one of their own or talks about money with their near and dear ones. McAfee had organized a survey in which 7,054 people from 7 countries participated. Out of this, about 1,010 people were Indians. In this survey, it was found that more than half of the Indians could not differentiate between real and fake AI calls and about 47% adults were aware of AI scams or someone they knew had been a victim of it in the past.

It was also found in this survey that about 69% of Indians are such that they cannot differentiate between fake AI call and real call. Also, 66% people said that if they get a message related to emergency, they will respond to it. Messages to which people responded quickly included messages claiming the receiver was robbed, the receiver had an accident, lost phone or wallet or needed help while traveling abroad. Such people who do not cross check the information can easily get trapped in this type of scam.

With the help of AI, thugs are increasingly doing the work of spreading fake calls and miss information. It was also revealed in this report that about 27% adults are now trusting social media less and 43% people are worried that anyone can be easily targeted through social media.
