Farmers Protest: Wednesday (14 February) is the second day of farmers’ protest. After the clash on Punjab-Haryana border on Tuesday, the farmers’ ‘Delhi Chalo’ march was halted overnight and has started once again. Meanwhile, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) Chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi has advised the Central Government on the issue of farmers and has targeted the treatment being meted out to them.

Owaisi said, ‘This is the failure of Modi government. He should have fulfilled the farmers’ demand for legal guarantee for MSP. The second demand of the farmers is to implement the Swaminathan Committee formula. Why is the government wasting time in doing this? He further said, ‘You are stopping the farmers as if the army of a neighboring country is coming. The Prime Minister of the country should immediately accept their demands. Elections are coming, they will get benefit.

60 people injured in violence

There was a clash between farmer unions and security personnel on the Punjab-Haryana border on Tuesday (February 13). More than 60 people including farmers and media persons have been injured in this. Police used water cannons and tear gas shells to disperse the protesting farmers on the border. Farmers claim that around 100 protesters have been injured in the police action. Demonstrations have started once again on Wednesday.

10 thousand farmers on Punjab-Haryana border

Farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher has said that 10 thousand farmers are present in Shambhu on the Punjab-Haryana border. He held a five-hour meeting with three Union ministers, after which it was announced to resume the march. Union Agriculture Minister Arjun Munda showed a positive attitude regarding the talks with the farmer leader. Munda indicated that consensus has been reached on most of the issues, proposals have been made to resolve the remaining issues through the formation of a committee.
