Recently, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami made his stand clear on UCC and it will be implemented by bringing a bill in the upcoming assembly session. Asaduddin Owaisi’s party All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) reacted to the matter.
What did AIMIM say?
AIMIM spokesperson Syed Asim Waqar said in an India TV program, “How did the UCC which is being implemented in state after state become so? There are different laws in Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Goa and all the states. What is not being implemented all over India is a regional law. Do not mislead… Do not mislead at any cost. If the Government of India wants to do so then it should implement UCC. What does this mean for Uttarakhand?”
He further said, “Tribals are more at risk than Muslims due to the implementation of UCC. We will not accept UCC, we will oppose it.” He asked the question, “Will the laws of Uttarakhand be applicable in Assam and North East? The Government of India has given the authority not to interfere in the property matters of the North East.”
What did Pushkar Singh Dhami say?
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said on Monday (January 29) that the expert committee preparing the draft of UCC will submit its report on February 2, after which the process of implementing it will start soon.
Sharing this information on the social media platform The government has always been committed to implementing UCC in the state.
Reiterating the state government’s resolve to maintain the original form of Uttarakhand, Dhami said, “UCC was our resolution in the Uttarakhand assembly elections held in 2022 and to fulfill that resolution, the public blessed us and voted for us in the government.” Gave a chance to come.” He said that as soon as we came to power, we formed a committee to prepare the draft of UCC.
He further said, “The committee has told us that it will give its draft to the state government on February 2.” The Chief Minister said that we will implement UCC in the state by bringing a bill in the upcoming assembly session.
