IAF Chief AP Singh: Indian Air Force Chief, Air Chief Marshal AP Singh expressed concern over the delay in the delivery of Tejas fighter aircraft. Along with this, he also mentioned the increasing strength of the army of China and Pakistan.
Speaking at the 21st Subroto Mukherjee Seminar on ‘Self-Reliance in Aerospace’, Air Chief Marshal AP Singh talked about the emphasis on R&D and how it loses its relevance if it is not able to meet deadlines.
‘China is getting stronger’
Air Chief Marshal AP Singh said, “As far as defense is concerned, we are concerned about our northern and western rivals. Both countries are rapidly increasing their forces. AP Singh further said, “After America, China is the second country in the world which has developed at least two types of stealth fighter aircraft – J-20 and J-35 – in record time. Meanwhile, the so-called 6th generation fighter aircraft is being tested.
‘We must be flexible’
Air Chief Marshal AP Singh said at the seminar, “Capacity building is important, we may not need it every time, but we must be flexible and production agencies can use their advanced manufacturing processes to increase speed and improve their manpower. Investment will have to be made.”
