Air India Flight Controversy: The complainant has also accused the father of the accused of urinating on a female co-passenger in an Air India flight. The complainant claimed in Delhi’s Patilaya House Court on Wednesday (January 11) that the father of accused Shankar Mishra sent him a WhatsApp message and later deleted it. The complainant has made this allegation during the hearing on the bail plea of the accused in the court.
The court refused to grant bail to the accused Shankar Mishra and rejected his bail plea. The Delhi Police had opposed the grant of bail to the accused. The police told the court that if the accused is released on bail, he can influence the complainant.
The complainant accused the father of the accused
Advocate appearing on behalf of the complainant also opposed the bail application saying that Mishra is an influential person and can put pressure on the complainant if released on bail. He also told that Mishra’s father had sent a WhatsApp message to the complainant on the day Mishra was arrested, but later deleted it. It was not known what was written in the message.
Shankar Mishra’s lawyer denied the allegations
Shankar Mishra’s lawyer opposed the allegations and said that the allegations were completely baseless. He said that this is not his (Mishra’s) father’s number. Advocate Manu Sharma, appearing for Mishra, had claimed in the court that there was a lapse in the arrest process and that his client should be granted bail. He claimed that a non-bailable warrant was issued against Mishra without any summons or bailable warrant.
The lawyer also submitted that Section 354 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) cannot be invoked against his client as the case of the complainant does not place him as a promiscuous person. Meanwhile, the investigating officer of the case, when asked about the investigation, replied in the court that seven witnesses were examined and the statement of the complainant was recorded by the police under section 164 of the IPC. The official further said that six more witnesses are to be examined, including four flight staff and two passengers.

Shankar Mishra has been accused of urinating on a female co-passenger in an Air India flight. The incident took place on November 26 in an Air India flight from New York to Delhi. On the complaint of the victim, an FIR was lodged against the accused in Delhi on January 4 and he was arrested on Saturday. After which the Patiala House Court of Delhi sent him to judicial custody for 14 days.
