Air Marshal AP Singh: Air Marshal AP Singh has been appointed as the new Vice Chief of the Indian Air Force (IAF). The officials gave this information on Monday (January 30). AP Singh will replace Air Marshal Sandeep Singh, who will retire on Tuesday. Officials said that Air Marshal AP Singh, currently serving as the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Central Air Command, will take over as the Vice Chief on Wednesday.
He was commissioned into the fighter stream of the Indian Air Force on 21 December 1984. Air Marshal AP Singh is an alumnus of National Defense Academy, Defense Services Staff College and National Defense College. He is a qualified flying instructor and an experimental test pilot with over 4,900 hours of flight time on a variety of aircraft.

AP Singh has served as Commanding Officer and Flight Commander of MiG 27 Squadron and Air Officer Commanding of an Air Base. Air Marshal Singh has served in the Aircraft and Systems Test Establishment at various ranks and capacities as a Test Pilot.

He also headed the MiG 29 Upgrade Project Management Team in Moscow, Russia. Air Marshal AP Singh was the Project Director (Flight Test) overseeing the flight testing of the Light Combat Aircraft Tejas at the National Flight Test Center and the Air Defense Commander at the South Western Air Command. Prior to taking over as the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Central Air Command, he was the Senior Air Staff Officer in the Eastern Air Command.
