The film ‘Singham Again’ made under the direction of Rohit Shetty has been released. The plot of the film is based on Ramayana. Just as in Ramayana, Ravana abducts Mother Sita and takes her to Lanka, similarly in the film, Arjun Kapoor’s character kidnaps Kareena Kapoor.
Both parts of SS Rajamouli’s film ‘Baahubali’ were blockbusters. Devasena’s expulsion from the Royal Palace in ‘Baahubali 2’ is inspired by Ramayana. Director Rajamouli himself once said that his films are inspired by Mahabharata and Ramayana.
Akshay Kumar’s film ‘Ram Setu’ is based on the bridge of Ramayana which was built by Lord Ram. Lord Rama built this bridge to reach the island of Lanka and save Mother Sita from Ravana.
Salman Khan’s family-drama ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’ is also inspired by Ramayana. The film shows the bond between step brothers. A quatrain from Ramayana has also been used in the film.
Jr NTR and Alia Bhatt’s ‘RRR’ is a box office blockbuster film. In the film, Alluri Sitaram Raju and Komaram Bheem are inspired by the characters Ram and Bheem of Ramayana and Mahabharata.
Prabhas’s film ‘Adipurush’ released last year was based on Ramayana. Although this film remained in a lot of controversies. The audience accused the film of playing with religious sentiments.
Abhishek Bachchan, Vikram and Aishwarya Rai’s film ‘Raavan’ was released in the year 2010. This film shows a modern story based on Ramayana. Although the film failed at the box office.
