Akshay Kumar New Project: Akshay Kumar and Karan Johar announced their new project on social media. The film is inspired by the life of India’s top barrister C. Shankaran Nair. ‘Akki’ will play the role of a barrister in the film. The film is based on the Jallianwala Bagh incident. That means after ‘Jolly LLB 2’, Akshay Kumar will once again be seen in black coat.
Dharma Production announced
On Friday, the makers announced the release date of the untitled film. Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions shared a poster on Instagram and wrote in the caption, ‘An untold story, an unheard truth. The film will be directed by Karan Singh Tyagi. In which Akshay Kumar, R. Madhavan and Ananya Pandey will be seen in important roles. The untitled film will be released in theaters on March 14, 2025. The poster shared by Dharma Productions reads ‘Untitled film on the shocking cover-up of a massacre that inspired India’s top barrister C. Shankaran Nair to fight against the British Empire.
The film is inspired by real events and based on the book ‘The Case That Shook the Empire’ by Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat.
Let us tell you that ‘The Case That Shook the Empire’ revolves around the defamation case initiated by Michael O’Dwyer, Lieutenant Governor of Punjab at the time of Jallianwala Bagh incident, against Chettur Shankaran Nair, former member of the Viceroy’s Executive Council. C. Shankaran Nair was an Indian lawyer, politician and reformer, who played an important role in the country’s freedom struggle. The upcoming courtroom-drama directed by Karan Singh Tyagi focuses on Akshay Kumar, who will be seen playing the role of a lawyer in the pre-independence era film.
The film is funded by Karan Johar and Apoorva Mehta’s Dharma Productions, Akshay Kumar’s home production Cape of Good Films and Leo Media Collective. Akshay Kumar will be seen together with Madhavan and Ananya in the project.
Apart from this film, Akshay Kumar also has many other projects in his kitty including ‘Housefull 5’ and ‘Welcome to the Jungle’. On the other hand R. Madhavan will be seen with Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt and Arjun Rampal in Aditya Dhar’s untitled film.
