The government has suspended District Panchayat Raj Officer (DPRO) Dhananjay Jaiswal for not resolving the transfer case of Gram Panchayat Officer and suppressing the order of Director Panchayati Raj.

In April 2021, Dhananjay Jaiswal took charge of Aligarh District Panchayat Raj Officer. During this time, the matter of transfer of Gram Panchayat Development Officer Abhinav Singh posted in Khair area came before him. When no action was taken in this matter, the Gram Panchayat officer went to the High Court, on which the court directed Director Panchayati Raj Atal Kumar Rai to dispose of the case.

It is being told that the Director had sent a letter in this regard to DPRO Aligarh, but he suppressed this letter and did not take any action. On which the Gram Panchayat Development Officer again went to the High Court. On December 4 last, the High Court summoned the Director Panchayat Raj and expressed strong displeasure with him. After the controversy caused by this, Additional Chief Secretary Panchayati Raj Department Narendra Kumar Bhushan has suspended Dhananjay Jaiswal on Wednesday for not following the instructions of the government.
