It is getting colder in Aligarh than in the mountains. On January 4, the temperature of Shimla-Nainital, Jammu and Dehradun was higher than Aligarh. The temperature of the district is continuously falling. This has increased melting and chilling. Visibility is not more than four feet in dense fog. Fog has put brakes on the speed of all vehicles.

According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature in Aligarh on January 4 was recorded at 16 and minimum at 7 degrees Celsius. At the same time, the maximum temperature in Shimla was 23.1 and minimum 10.4 degrees Celsius. In Nainital the maximum was 20 and minimum 9.5 degrees Celsius, in Jammu the maximum was 23.7 and minimum 8.7 degrees Celsius. Similarly, in Dehradun the maximum was 26 and minimum 7.8 degrees Celsius. In this way Aligarh remained cooler than the mountains.

Due to heavy fog, drivers parked their vehicles at roadside dhabas. When the fog cleared a bit in the morning, the vehicles picked up speed. Former Chairman of Geography Department of AMU, Prof. Atiq Ahmed said that the weather will remain bad till January. If there is light sunshine then there will be dense fog at night. During this period, there will be frost along with fog. There will be relief from cold if the maximum temperature increases.
