‘Aliya Basu Gayab Hai’ Movie Review: Vinay Pathak’s ‘Aliya Basu Gayab Hai’ will keep you entangled in mystery

Suspense-thriller films are very popular in our country. It has always been seen that films of this genre have a great impact on the box office. I was also looking for a good suspense thriller film for a long time and when I heard about the film ‘Alia Basu Gayab Hai’, I wanted to watch it ever since. This is a great film, which the audience is going to like.

Rehab Pictures’ film ‘Alia Basu Gayab Hai’ is a psychological thriller. Featuring excellent actors like Vinay Pathak, Raima Sen, Salim Diwan, this film keeps you hooked throughout. First of all, let’s talk about the story of ‘Alia Basu Gayab Hai’. It is based on the story of former criminals Deepak and Vikram, who kidnap Alia, the daughter of a rich man, i.e. businessman Gautam Basu, for ransom and personal revenge, but Deepak’s friend Vikram is also unaware of his hidden intentions.

Alia struggles to free herself from the kidnappers. When the kidnappers reach the designated place to collect the ransom, they discover the deception and what happens after that, so you will have to go to the cinema and watch the entire film. Although you will not find anything new in the story, but the way the story has been presented is amazing. If we talk about acting, the film has excellent actors like Vinay Pathak, Raima Sen and Salim Diwan and everyone has done complete justice to their characters.

First of all, let’s talk about actor Salim Diwan, for whom this is only his second theatrical release feature film, but he comes across as a seasoned artist. Through his work, he has impressively displayed the stature of the artist within him. The way Salim Diwan has portrayed the character in the psychological thriller based on his experience, only a seasoned theatre artist can play it well, since Salim is a theatre based artist, that is why he kept his character alive in this film quite easily at every moment.

Although, playing such a character is quite difficult, but Salim Diwan integrated his theatre experiences and kept his role and its suspense intact till the end. Playing his character with full emotion, he kept every viewer glued to their seats in the scenes of kidnapping Alia Basu and the scenes thereafter. It can be said that through his character, he has succeeded in leaving his unique mark in the world of acting.

On the other hand, the charming Raima Sen has always tried to come out of her comfort zone and this effort is clearly visible in this film as well. In ‘Alia Basu Gayab Hai’, the beautiful Raima is playing the role of Alia, the daughter of a rich man, who is ‘kidnapped’ and kept in torturous detention. Raima Sen has brought life to her role of this kidnapped girl, while Vinay Pathak has settled into his character so much that it becomes difficult to even find him in the character.

Whatever the role, Vinay Pathak brings a special flow to it. He is full of cinema. He is such a seasoned artist who leaves a mark in every kind of character from TV to films and web series. His well-balanced acting and unmatched comic artistry is unmatched in cinema. You will be convinced by his acting in ‘Alia Basu Gayab Hai’ as well. He has played an amazing role in this film.

Talking about direction, Preeti Singh has taken the reins of directing a feature film for the first time through ‘Alia Basu Gayab Hai’. Although, before this she had directed a short film ‘The Lovers’, but despite this ‘Alia Basu Gayab Hai’ was a very special project for her. In such a situation, she put all her experience into it. In such a situation, her honesty and hard work is clearly visible in every angle of the film. On the other hand, if we talk about some weak parts, then you see stagnation in many places in the film. The first half of the film may seem a bit slow, but it picks up its pace in the second half. On the other hand, the music in the film is not that strong, but it is okay. Overall, you can watch this film once. 3 stars for the film from me.
