25 years of political career
Fakirchand Das is a leader and social worker and has contested assembly elections several times in the last 25 years. Fakirchand Das, who was in Congress for years, has changed sides in many parties and is now in RJD. Apart from contesting the Bodhgaya Assembly elections on Congress ticket, he has contested elections from Imamganj twice as an independent and in 2020 as a Jap candidate. Fakirchand Das has been a district councilor in 2001. Talking to Local 18, Fakirchand Das says that he is of religious nature and because of his religious nature, he does not wear shoes or slippers.
Believes in the principles of Sant Ravidas and Bhim Rao Ambedkar
Fakirdas told that he is a descendant of Saint Ravidas devotee. Devotees of Saint Ravidas used to make others wear shoes and slippers but did not wear them themselves. Fakirchand says that he believes in the principles of Sant Ravidas and Bhim Rao Ambedkar. Since regaining consciousness, I have taken a vow not to wear shoes and slippers, I have resolved to spend my entire life without shoes and slippers. He told that in those days many people did not have shoes and slippers on their feet. Many people were not able to wear it even because of money.
no living being should get injured
Fakirdas told that his faith is so deep that he does not miss any puja. Participate in all the pujas held throughout the year. I have taken a vow not to wear shoes or slippers throughout my life so that no animal gets injured by being crushed by my feet. ‘Like Lord Ram went into exile barefoot. Rishis and sages also used to walk barefoot. Similarly, I have also resolved that I will not wear shoes or slippers for the rest of my life.
