America Moon Mission: Commercial American spacecraft Odysseus Lunar Lander has successfully landed on the South Pole of the Moon while sending signals, but information has been received about sending weak signals. Intuitive Machines, a private company engaged in this mission, said that a commercial spacecraft landed near the south pole of the Moon, but the controller was receiving signals from the hexagon-shaped lander Odysseus.
The photo of the Odysseli lander has also been shared by Intuitive Machines. “We are trying to understand the signals we are receiving from the Odysseus lander, but we can confirm without a doubt that our lander is on the lunar surface,” said Tim Crane, mission director for Intuitive Machines. Congratulating the IM team, he said, we are trying to get a strong signal from the lander.
What did NASA say on America’s moon mission?
This spacecraft is part of a group of unmanned commercial robots funded by NASA. This spacecraft will help in the Artemis program to take humans to the Moon in the future in 2026. While sharing a post on X, the American Space Agency wrote – Your Odysseli Lander has been delivered to the Moon. NASA said Odysseus landed on the moon at 6:23 pm ET (4:53 am IST).
India had landed Vikram Lander on the South Pole of the Moon
Before this, India has become the first country to successfully land its spacecraft on the cold and dangerous south pole of the Moon. Chandrayaan-3’s lander Vikram reached the lunar surface safely in August 2023. Now America’s spacecraft Odysseus Lander has landed on the South Pole of the Moon. America has started the lunar mission after about 50 years after the Apollo mission. Before this, America had launched the Apollo campaign in 1972 to reach the Moon.
America became the second country to reach the South Pole
According to NASA, America’s Odysseus lander has landed on the crater named Malaparte A on the south pole of the Moon. In such a situation, it is believed that after India, America has now become the second country to reach the South Pole of the Moon. This lunar expedition of America is only for 16 days, because darkness is going to fall on the South Pole of the Moon soon. This lander will be active on the Moon only for 7 days.
