American turkish woman killed in IDF attack in West Bank now Israel clarifies


IDF Attack In West Bank: A 26-year-old American citizen died after being shot in the head in Beita town of West Bank, Palestine on Friday (September 6, 2024). Regarding this, the Israeli army said on Tuesday (September 10, 2024) that the American activist killed in the West Bank last week may have been an unintentional victim of a bullet fired by Israel. According to the Israeli army, they were targeting someone else and the bullet hit the American activist.

According to the report of news agency AP, Israeli protester Jonathan Pollack, who witnessed the firing incident, said that American activist Aysenur Ezgi Ezgi also has Turkish citizenship. He said that he was shot after demonstrating against Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank on Friday. The Israeli army expressed regret after its investigation and said, “There is a high possibility that he was shot by mistake. Our target was the main accused of inciting riots.”

Jonathan Polak said that the firing happened about half an hour after the war between Palestinians and Israeli army ended. According to the report, volunteers of International Solidarity Movement said that the deceased was participating in a weekly demonstration against the expansion of Israeli settlements, due to which incidents of stone pelting have also been reported there often.

US Secretary of State condemned the killing

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken condemned the killing at a press conference in London on Tuesday (September 10, 2024), calling it unjustified. He said, “No person should be shot while participating in a protest. In our view, Israeli security forces need to make some fundamental changes to the way they operate on the West Bank.”

White House National Security Council spokesman Sean Savet said that the US is shocked by the tragic death of a citizen. He had contacted Israel after the incident.
