Amit Shah Launched Bharatpol Portal: Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched the BHARATPOL portal of CBI at Bharat Mandapam on Tuesday (January 07, 2025). Union Home Minister Amit Shah also gave police medals to 35 award winning CBI officers. These people have been awarded the President’s Police Medal for distinguished service and the Union Home Minister’s Medal for excellence in investigation.

In his address, Amit Shah said that with the launch of BHARATPOL under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is entering a new era in international investigation. He said that through BHARATPOL, every agency and police force of India will be able to speed up the investigation by connecting with Interpol very easily.

‘India’s flag will fly in the world till the centenary of independence’

Amit Shah said that the country will celebrate the centenary of independence in the year 2047 and Prime Minister Modi ji has called this period Amritkal. He said that 140 crore people of the country have accepted this Amrit Kaal with emotion and have taken a collective pledge that by the century of independence, India will be first in every field in the world.

He said that there are many stages to fulfill this resolution. The first step in this will be to make India the third largest economy in the world by 2027. He said that this Amritkaal is a golden opportunity for India. The Home Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, under a scientific roadmap and time-bound program, India’s journey from a regional leader to a global leader has taken shape and we have moved forward on this path.

BHARATPOL is built on 5 modules

Amit Shah said that our systems will have to be upgraded and BHARATPOL is a step in this direction. He said that Bharatpol has 5 major modules, Connect, Interpol Notice, Reference, Broadcast and Resource. Through this, all our law enforcement agencies have got a technical platform of assistance. He said that through Connect, all our law enforcement agencies will now in a way become NCB of Interpol.

He said that requests for assistance from 195 countries will be immediately available to us through broadcast and through the resource we will be able to set up a system for receiving and sending documents and capacity building.

The Union Home and Cooperation Minister said that the BHARATPOL portal has been created after a very detailed exercise. He said that real time interface is the feature of this portal which will ensure direct and effective communication between our agencies for crime control.

Central and state governments will benefit

CBI, as the NCB for INTERPOL in India, helps in international cooperation in criminal cases in collaboration with various agencies across the country including law enforcement agencies. This coordination at the Centre, State and Union Territory levels is done through INTERPOL Liaison Officers (ILOs), who are linked to Unit Officers (UOs) at the level of Superintendents of Police, Commissioners of Police and Branch Heads in their respective organizations. . At present communication between CBI, ILOs, and UOs mainly depends on letters, emails, and faxes.
