In Hasanpur, during the fast of Mahashivratri, the health of more than 500 people deteriorated after eating buckwheat flour dumplings and puris. People ran to doctors when they experienced vomiting, diarrhea and body tremors. Most of the people were admitted to hospitals when their condition became serious. The condition of many people remains critical. Police and administrative officials have reached the spot.

Doctors have said that it is food poisoning. There is an atmosphere of panic among the people. The team of Food Safety Department is busy investigating the matter. Shops from where buckwheat flour was purchased. They are being marked. Shiva devotees, who were fasting on the holy festival of Mahashivratri on Friday, ate the prasad of pakodas and puris made from buckwheat flour purchased from the market.

Some people also consumed buckwheat pakodas in the Bhandara set up on the grounds of Jharkhand Mahadev Shiv Temple. People started falling ill after eating it. Those who complained of stomach pain and vomiting were admitted to community health centers and private hospitals. More than five people became ill.

Out of which more than 20 people were taken to the hospital. More than ten people were sent home after treatment. Due to consumption of buckwheat flour, the health of Akash Agarwal, Mohit Agarwal, Amrish Agarwal, Jyoti Agarwal, Divyansh Agarwal, Shivam Agarwal, Ram Avtar Agarwal, Prince Agarwal, Poonam Agarwal, Ruby Agarwal, residents of Mohalla Kot East Rahra Road of the city, deteriorated.

Apart from this, more than 50 people including Nishu Agarwal, Lavish Agarwal, Raghav Agarwal, Yadaram Singh, Kapil Kumar, Nivesh Kumar, Saket Kumar, Anita Devi etc. fell ill. The number of people falling ill is continuously increasing. Fertilizer Safety Officer PK Jayant says that the shops from where buckwheat flour was purchased. They are being marked. A sample of buckwheat is being taken and sent to the laboratory for testing.
