Doctors had told Angelina that due to genetic problems she could get breast cancer and uterine cancer. According to the doctors, Angelina had an 87 percent chance of getting breast cancer and up to 54 percent chance of getting uterine cancer.
Had an operation to cure cancer
Angelina Jolie had revealed all these things in an article in the New York Times. Angelina had written, ‘When I came to know about my truth, I became alert and tried to avoid the danger as much as possible. I decided to undergo surgery. I started with the breast because I was more at risk of breast cancer than uterine cancer.’
Removing the breast reduces the risk of cancer by 5%
In the report, Angelina told that by getting her breast removed, her risk of cancer was reduced to 5 percent. The actress, who lost her mother due to cancer, says, ‘Now I can tell my children that they will not have to fear losing their mother due to breast cancer. Now they will not be able to see anything that makes them feel uncomfortable. They can only see my small wounds and minor scars and nothing else.’

Angelina Jolie further wrote- I hope other women will benefit from my experience. The word cancer is still enough to spread panic among people. Angelina says about breast removal, I do not feel less than a woman. It did not affect my femininity in any way. Women who have undergone mastectomy can regain the lost beauty through surgery.
