‘Ante Sundarani’ Movie Review: It is a bit difficult to understand the calculation of the audience’s choice. On the one hand, a historical film like Emperor Prithviraj Chauhan does not work, on the other hand, action-packed Dhaakad also dies at the box office, but crores of viewers reach to see a fantasy film like RRR and a comedy film like Bhool Bhulaiyaa is also one of the biggest hits of the year. Gets involved in big films.
The spice of country and abroad is also available on OTT and in such a situation one can also see a film which is very soft, clean and full of romance – Ante Sundaraniki, which means – Sundar ka to aisa hai That. It is clear from the name that the film revolves around the character named Sundar and the good thing is that the film is really very beautiful. Young couple, loving couple will watch this film, they will see many such things which seem similar to some aspect of their life.
Sundar (Nani) is the sole heir of a staunch Brahmin family. His father and grandmother always do not allow him to live freely by being in the clutches of good and bad. Since childhood, the tune of going to America remains in Sundar’s mind. To get this opportunity by fooling his boss, he includes his colleague Soumya in his scheme and reaches America. Sundar’s real reason for going to America is his childhood friend Leela (Nazariya) who wants to get married on Athena Island in America. Leela’s family is a staunch Christian.
Sundar and Leela make a plan to marry each other. Leela calls her home and says that she is pregnant and hence she should be married to Sunder. Sundar calls his home and says that the doctor’s test has revealed that he cannot become a father and yet a girl is ready to marry him, so both of them should be married. A new drama begins when both of them return to India, in order to hide the truth by lying, they tell many lies, and the matter gets worse. The ending of the film is very poignant, one gets choked up and realizes that the house of lies cannot run in the street of love.
Nani’s talent does not need any introduction and in this film he is in the role of a person who is unhappy with the customs of his family but cannot do anything. He has to strangle his own desires under the wishes of his father, his mother and his grandmother. Until he expresses his love to Leela, confusion continues in his mind.
Nani has done a wonderful job in this role. If you want to see the character overpowering the artist, then it can be seen in this film. His opposite is Nazariya. This is his first Telugu film. After the breakup with her boyfriend, as she gets closer to her grandmother, a difference is visible in the complexion of her face. The guilt of lying to his parents and the pain of seeing his sister getting crushed in the mill of marriage, both reflect his mental state. Sundar’s father Mr. Shastri (VK Naresh) and Leela’s father Mr. Thomas (Alagam Perumal) both are troubled by their own stereotypes but cannot do anything even if they want to. The acting of both is top class.
There are some special things in this film which today’s young generation can learn by watching. To break stereotypes, it is necessary to understand that stereotype first. Once upon a time, traveling abroad was considered against religion. Before leaving and after coming, all kinds of atonement had to be done. The reason for this was freedom from diseases caused by change of climate and food habits. The original idea was left somewhere and only a convention remained. To remove any crisis, it is necessary to worship. In olden times, the meaning of crisis was physical disease, and on the pretext of worship, yagya, insects had to be destroyed in the house. Now only worship is considered and the real use has turned into a custom.
Another thing that has been emphasized in the film is to speak the truth. By the way, this saying is very old that truth has to be told once and lie many times, but after watching this film, it seems that even if a lie is told innocently, it is still a lie. There is another saying that one should always say good things, one should also refrain from speaking bad things because Saraswati resides on the tongue and if that thing becomes true. It has been shown in a very poignant way in the film. It is a customary thing that Saraswati resides on the tongue but its purpose was to stop the person from saying wrong things. There are many such messages in the film which keep coming in between and look like an essential part of the film, so there is no free lecture.
Writer-director Vivek Atreya has done a lot of experiments in story telling in this film. The childhood scenes of Nani and Nazariya indicate a social evil but do not become lectures. The scenes where Sundar gets a chance to play superstar Chiranjeevi’s childhood because of a fake assistant director Sundar, although filmed in a very light way, point to a bigger problem. The ease with which Leela and Sundar talk about pregnancy and impotence also shows that today’s generation does not hesitate to tell lies of any level for their own benefit. They regret their actions only when a huge loss has been done.
Vivek has inserted some such moments in this light-hearted film which make us think. Vivek Sagar’s music is melodious. Niketh Bommireddy’s cinematography gives a fresh feel. Ravi Teja Girijala’s editing of this story, using the right colors of a young love story, does not seem to justify the length of the film with the possibility of something better. The film is of about 3 hours and should have been shortened a bit. The film is entertaining. It is light fluffy. There are also messages in the screenplay which do not hinder the story. This film should be seen with the family.
