The anticipatory bail plea of the accused of removing the land of Shri Bihari Ji Temple from the graveyard in village Shahpur of Chhata tehsil of Mathura and registering it in the name of the temple in the records and demolishing the temple and building a mausoleum, was heard by ADJ IV Dr. Pallavi Aggarwal’s case has been rejected by the court.
Prosecution advocate ADGC Hemendra Bhardwaj told that the then head of Shahpur, Ramveer, had passed a resolution for the cemetery in the panchayat on September 2, 2004. Khasra number 108/4 and 108/5 of the cemetery were proposed. The area of land was not recorded in this. Accountant, Revenue Inspector etc. conspired to convert 108 into 181. This number was of population. Mandir Bihari Ji is registered in this number. The temple was in ruins due to the absence of a priest. Bihari ji’s temple and the well built there were demolished with a JCB.
On the night of 15 March 2020, 20 to 30 people of non-community armed with weapons entered the temple and broke the throne of Bihari ji. A tomb was built at this place and pillars were placed around it. At that time no one opposed it out of fear. Suresh of the village was a witness to this. When the people of the community associated with the temple came to know about this in the morning, Ram Avtaar of the village filed a case in this matter in Kosikalan police station.
Village head Ramveer along with Deputy Head Khurshid, Bhola Khan and others were named in the case. Police have filed a charge sheet against Pradhan and others in this case. Pradhan Ramveer had applied to the court for his anticipatory bail in this case. According to ADGC, the application has been rejected.
