Under the National Education Policy of the year 2020, a special ID has been started to be given to all the students. This ID is called Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry Card i.e. APAAR Card.
This card is issued by the Government of India under ‘One Nation, One Student ID’. The Education Ministry of India has proposed a deadline of 2026-27 to 100 percent integrate the education records of all students through this card.
The Apar card will include information like educational achievements, certificates of the students. Apart from this, it will also include personal details of students like blood group, height and weight. All this information will be integrated online.
The biggest benefit of Apar Card will be to those students whose parents are in such jobs, who are frequently transferred from one state to another. With this card, such students will not face any problem in submitting their education details.
Apar card has 12 numbers just like Aadhaar card. Apart from this, it also contains information about scholarships and other types of certificates. You can also connect it to DigiLocker. It can be made online.
The Government of India plans to implement Apar Card in the entire country by the year 2026-27. At present it has been implemented in states like Delhi and Chhattisgarh. Gradually, it is being implemented in more states of the country in a phased manner.
