Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Death Anniversary: In childhood, it was very difficult to get two meals a day. The house ran somehow. Father was an ordinary fisherman. To help the family, he woke up early in the morning at the age of 8 and sold newspapers. He was the youngest among his siblings. Because of which he was everyone’s favourite, but in his heart and mind, he had the passion to study and do something for the country. Because of which he later became the President of India. Yes, we are talking about India’s former President APJ Abdul Kalam, famous in the world as the Missile Man.
Former President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam was born in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu in the year 1931. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam’s family was poor. His father was a fisherman and there was a shortage of money at home. But Kalam’s mind was always focused on studies. Due to which, when Kalam was just 8 years old, he used to wake up at 4 in the morning and go to sell newspapers. He used to do all this to meet the expenses of his studies. After selling newspapers all day, he used to come home and study. One day his teacher told the children about birds and asked the question that how birds are able to fly. That day Kalam decided in his mind that he would become an aeronautical engineer when he grows up.

After completing his education from Schwartz School in Ramanathapuram, Kalam went to St. Joseph’s College in Tiruchirappalli. From here he graduated in Physics in 1954. With his hard work and dedication, Dr. Kalam studied Aeronautical Engineering from Madras Engineering College. He worked in many important positions in India’s Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) and Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). He played an important role in the development of ballistic missiles in India and came to be known as ‘Missile Man’.

Kalam’s life was full of struggles, but he never gave up. He became the 11th President of India. He always inspired the youth of the country. Kalam believed that if we want to do something with determination, then we can definitely succeed.

Dr. Kalam’s life teaches us that if we work hard and with dedication, we can definitely achieve our goals. No matter how many resources we have, we can fulfill our dreams. Kalam died on July 27, 2015, but his inspiration still inspires millions of people.
