Tech giant Apple has fired about 50 of its employees. All these employees were working at the company’s headquarters in Cupertino. All of them are accused of financial irregularities in the name of donations. The identities of 6 of the fired employees have been made public and warrants have been issued against them. Indians are also included in the total laid off employees. However, his identity has not been revealed yet.
Mischief was happening in the name of charity
Actually, Apple runs a matching grants program. This is a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity. In this, Apple also donates equally to its employees to charity organizations. For example, if an Apple employee donates Rs 100 to a charity, then Apple also donates Rs 100 to the same organization. Taking advantage of this program, some employees, including Indians, were committing financial irregularities.
How was the problem happening?
Actually, some employees were doing this wrong in collaboration with charity organizations. In this, he would first give exaggerated donations to some organization. When that organization received the same amount of donation from Apple, they used to take back the donation given by them by manipulation. Allegedly, Indian employees were doing this mischief in collaboration with some Telugu charity organizations. If these allegations are found to be true then it is a violation of corporate policies as well as tax laws of America. This will be seen as tax evasion.
These employees were identified
So far, the identity of 6 accused employees in this case has been made public. These include 37-year-old Siu Kei, 34-year-old Yathei, 35-year-old Yat C, 38-year-old Wentao, 39-year-old Lichao Ni and 31-year-old Zheng Chang. So far, information about the Indian employees allegedly involved in the irregularities has not been revealed.
