On the show, Kapil often jokingly tells Archana that she takes money for free. But very few people know what circumstances Archana had to go through to get this judge’s chair.

Why did Archana Puran Singh laugh at the death of her mother-in-law?
In an interview given to Indian Express, Archana had told that ‘When I was judging the Comedy Circus show, my mother-in-law was admitted in the hospital. One day when I reached the set, I got a call that my mother-in-law had passed away. I told this to the makers of the show and said that I would have to leave immediately. But I was stopped.

Archana further says, ‘He stopped me by saying that ma’am please get some of your reactions shot within 15 minutes and then go away. All my reactions were to laugh. Then I sat down and laughed loudly, even though I felt like crying inside. I can never forget that moment. I was missing for some time. My brain was not working. I was laughing.’

Archana further says that ‘at that time I was remembering only my mother-in-law’s face. This was very traumatic for me. This was the most difficult time of my life. I had to laugh out of compulsion. I was very close to my mother-in-law. May God never show this day to anyone.
