Who made bubble gum?

The idea to make bubble gum came to Frank H. Flair, the founder of the Flair Corporation, Philadelphia. The first bubble gum was made in the year 1906. He called his invention Blibber-Blubber. Actually, Flair wanted to give the world a product that people would like. This was the reason that he made such a bubble gum, which people could inflate after eating it. However, Flair was unsuccessful in his first attempt. Thus the first successful bubble gum was made in the year 1928.

According to a report published in BBC History, Flair’s accountant Walter Diemer was experimenting in the lab with Blibber-Blubber. Then they accidentally created a substance that was chewable and could be easily inflated. This unique product was named Dubble Bubble.

The entire batch was sold out in a day

Why is bubble gum pink?

Actually, Dymer’s bubble gum was light gray in color. Which was not good to see and at that time only red color dye was available in the factory. Mixing red color dye in gray bubble gum made it pink. That’s when bubble gum got its pink color.
