Karnataka government released a subsidy of Rs 10 crore
< p>According to media reports, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has released a subsidy of Rs 10 crore to deal with the attack of insects attacking arecanut plants. Farmers will be able to buy pesticide chemicals with the help of subsidy. We will spray the crops in the fields.
These insects have attacked
Damage to papaya crop in Maharashtra due to fungal virus attack happened. In Karnataka, insects like mealybugs, scales and spider mites have attacked arecanut trees. Areca nut trees are being ruined by this. Farmers fear that they will suffer financially due to low crop production. The Chief Minister told that the funds from the State Government has been issued. It will be used to protect against pest attack in Chikmagalur, Shivamogga and Malnad districts. On the other hand, the central government team has already done the study in Chikmagalur. Actually, due to rain and wind, there has been a speed in reaching the insect from one tree to another. Now the state government will spray insecticides to kill the pests.
