Areca Nut Production: The loss of crops to the farmers is not stopping. Insects are destroying the crops in different states of the country. In many districts of Maharashtra, the papaya crop was destroyed due to the attack of fungal virus. Papayas worth lakhs of rupees were wasted by the farmers. Now a similar picture has emerged from Karnataka. There has been an increase in the attack of insects on the betel nut trees. Here the betel nut crop worth crores of rupees has been ruined. The good thing for the farmers is that the state government has come forward to help the farmers. 

Karnataka government released a subsidy of Rs 10 crore

< p>According to media reports, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has released a subsidy of Rs 10 crore to deal with the attack of insects attacking arecanut plants. Farmers will be able to buy pesticide chemicals with the help of subsidy. We will spray the crops in the fields. 

These insects have attacked

Damage to papaya crop in Maharashtra due to fungal virus attack happened. In Karnataka, insects like mealybugs, scales and spider mites have attacked arecanut trees. Areca nut trees are being ruined by this. Farmers fear that they will suffer financially due to low crop production. On the other hand, due to the high price of betel nut in the market, the common man will have to loosen his pocket. Is that insects attack on betel nut. Insects make the plant spotted by sucking the juice from the stem and leaves. If the medicine is not sprayed soon and cleanliness is not done, then the betel leaves turn yellow. Later they dry up and fall on the ground. 

Funds will be used in these areas

The Chief Minister told that the funds from the State Government has been issued. It will be used to protect against pest attack in Chikmagalur, Shivamogga and Malnad districts. On the other hand, the central government team has already done the study in Chikmagalur. Actually, due to rain and wind, there has been a speed in reaching the insect from one tree to another. Now the state government will spray insecticides to kill the pests.
