Technology is changing with time. Nowadays, Artificial Intelligence is being used for many purposes. Now the field of education is also not behind in terms of Artificial Intelligence. Kerala has decided to include AI in class 7 to make the students modern.
4 lakh students will benefit from this initiative. In the AI learning module, students will create their own AI program on an experimental basis. The new ICT textbooks focus on logical thinking and programming skills. Students will use ‘Pictoblox’ package, ‘Scratch’ software etc. to practice programming, AI, robotics etc. In the new ICT courses, a gaming mode facility has been provided to give information to students about traffic rules and waste disposal.
According to the report, the state government has planned to introduce AI learning modules in the ICT curriculum for Class 7 students. This initiative will benefit more than 4 lakh students across Kerala and give them an opportunity to go into the field of AI. KITE CEO Anwar Sadath announced that students in the ‘Computer Vision’ course will learn to create AI programs. New textbooks will be introduced in Malayalam, English, Tamil and Kannada mediums for classes 1, 3, 5 and 7 in the new academic session starting from June 3.
Software will be made available
This new curriculum emphasizes on developing logical thinking and programming skills in ICT textbooks for primary level. It includes packages like ‘Pictoblox’ and ‘Scratch’ software, which will give students practice in programming, AI and robotics. Software for training in artificial intelligence will be made available in laptops of schools.

The new ICT course has been provided with a gaming mode to educate students about traffic rules and garbage disposal. Sadath, chairman of the ICT textbook committee, said that the new changes will teach students about cyber security and identifying fake news.
