Aruna Irani On Hiding Her Marriage: Aruna Irani is a veteran actress of the Indian film industry. During this time, the veteran actress talked about her love story with her husband and director Kuku Kohli and revealed why she had hidden her marriage.
Aruna and Kuku Kohli used to hate each other before.
During a conversation on Zoom, Aruna Irani told that she and Kuku Kohli hated each other initially. Narrating her love story, she said, “I met Kukuji during the chaos. I was doing a lot of films then to run my household but they were not very good roles.
I was very busy with my films in Madras. At that time Kukuji asked me for my dates for a month, I tried for a few days and told him that I could not do the film. Kukuji got angry after hearing this. But we kept working. So even when I had no work but was given dates, he would call me and I would get very angry.
How Aruna and Kuku fell in love with each other
Aruna further said, “Sometimes he would keep me sitting for the whole day and then take a shot, hence there would be a fight between us. I hated Kukuji and he too had a problem with me. Then I don’t know what happened, he started softening and we became friends. Then he started adjusting my dates. And finally, love happened.”
Why did you hide your marriage and why did you not have children?
Aruna Irani also revealed why she had hidden her marriage with Kuku. He said, “I did not tell anyone about our marriage because he was a married man. I don’t know where this stupid news came from that I didn’t know about his first marriage. His wife used to come to the set with the children. I knew about it. This was a difficult decision. Somehow we got married. For us, not having children was not the right decision. But he fought the world to marry me.
