Asha and Sangini women workers protested in Agra, Uttar Pradesh on Monday regarding 10-point demands. Said that we are the women of India, we are not flowers but sparks. Urgent now…make us permanent. Such slogans kept echoing from MG Road to Collectorate.
At 12 noon, women health workers took out a procession on MG Road. Reached the collectorate and sat at the gate. District President Pappi Dhangar said that Asha and Sangini workers should be given salaries like state employees. Get retirement benefits. Get opportunities for promotion. 10-point demands including stationery allowance, insurance of Rs 10 lakh in case of accidental death, training and traveling allowance are pending.
The demand to fulfill the pending demands has been raised by submitting a memorandum to the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister. There will be a statewide agitation if the hearing is not held. Narendra Kumar, Bhimsen, Sunita, Neeraj, Kanchan, Prabha, Aarti, Mithilesh, Seema, Lakshmi, Sona, Anita, Kamlesh etc. were present in the demonstration.
